A Dry Creek Bed is the second book in The Dry Creek Series – I read and enjoyed the first, Up A Dry Creek and can definitely recommend it, too.
The second book, in my opinion, can be read as a standalone, but you’ll get more enjoyment and back story if you read the other one first, and that’s no hardship 
A Dry Creek Bed tells the story of Beth Martinez. She has a serious thing for her best friend’s divorced brother, Hank Layton, but her personal situation means she won’t do anything about it. The trouble is, Hank has the hots for Beth, too, but every time he chases her, she bolts. Frustrated and at his wits’ end, Hank is almost ready to give up on Beth, until it becomes apparent that a dodgy property developer believes she’s the only obstacle between them and millions of dollars.
