Rogue’s Pawn is the story of an ordinary woman so sick of her life that she unwittingly casts a spell which launches her out of her world and into Faerie. Once there, she’s subjected to an attack from the black dog she’s been dreaming about for months and wakes up to find herself the captive of the fae lord Rogue.
He has healed and looked after her and therefore deems himself her rescuer. In return, he wants to sire her firstborn child. As if that wasn’t crazy enough, she finds that she’s a totally different person in this world – with the power to make things happen if she wishes them. However, she must learn to harness her power and use it properly in order to survive in the new world she has no hope of escaping from. But how can she concentrate on doing that when she’s so distracted by her desire for Rogue – whom she also hates for the things he has subjected her to…
Rogue’s Pawn is a very unique read. It’s well-written and engaging, and there’s so much going on that you’ve got to pay attention or you’ll miss something. It’s not as erotic as I was expecting it to be – the erotic elements are more about desire throughout the book, rather than actually acting on those impulses. But the book certainly has its sexy moments. So if you’re looking for a paranormal erotic romance that’s a bit different, but not too hot, then you should definitely check out this book.
