She-Wolf is a debut novel from Elizabeth Morgan. It’s also a prequel, so I’m guessing that means we get more, both from Ms. Morgan and this storyline! I certainly hope so!
Set in Scotland, the action in She-Wolf centres around a werewolf pack, and in particular Owen MacLaren. He’s the Alpha’s son and the Pack’s second. He’s also never feared anything in his life. That is, until Clare Walker waltzes back into his life. She also belongs to the werewolf pack. They haven’t seen each other for five years – since Owen unwittingly broke a very young Clare’s heart.
Clare’s always loved Owen, but when she made her announcement, Owen felt she was too young and worried about the age gap between them. Now, however, he sees her for the woman she is. His Wolf, too, is desperate to mate with her Wolf and bond them forever – man to woman, Wolf to Wolf. The trouble is, Clare’s stubborn and has trouble trusting Owen after he hurt her all those years ago.
Owen’s in bits. He wants Clare but can’t make her believe it – and some unknown creatures are viciously slaughtering humans and leaving the bodies on his father’s land. He’s got a lot to deal with – but can he get through it in one piece? And, more importantly, without risking losing Clare – the only thing he’s ever been terrified of in his life?
She-Wolf is a fab read. I liked the setting, the main characters and the humour which is sprinkled throughout. Ms. Morgan has a very enjoyable writing style, and the passion between Owen and Clare practically jumped off the page. Overall, a fun, engaging, exciting read. My only criticism is the cliffhanger of an ending, but only because I really want to find out what happens next!
