As part of the Riptide Publishing Grand Opening blog tour, I’d like to welcome Bryl R. Tyne.
Take it away, Bryl:
Favorite Hero: Aquaman
Favorite Dessert: Angel food cake
Favorite Villain: Gru from Despicable Me
Favorite Song: BENT by Matchbox 20
Have you ever written to music? Always. It’s a must for me.
What music? Anything that moves me.
Do you have a writing tip to share with our viewers? Never write when filled with rage. You’ll regret it three days later when you finally stop and realize you haven’t bathed or eaten or slept.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned from your research? That a lot of Epubs will publish just about anything as long as they think it’ll sell… truly sickening and disheartening to us who strive to be actual writers.
What fascinates you most about writing m/m? What fascinates me most is knowing there are many women out there who actually enjoy this stuff.
What does your family think of you writing erotica? The ones who’ve chosen to be vocal on the matter don’t have a problem. My characters don’t always mesh with them, but I don’t care.
What would you tell a reader reluctant to read erotica? Getting plenty at home, eh? (Which usually leads to them proclaiming, “NO!” or “Not really.”) Which opens the door to me adding, “Well, then what’ve got to lose? Hmm?”
Have you ever tested out one of your sex scenes on your significant other? No, not with a sig other. Where’s the fun in that?
Is there any topic you find taboo? In talking about or in writing? Anybody can talk to me about anything, and I’ll listen with rapt attention and respond with things that would shock the average Joe… Writing? I don’t know; most publishers have taboo lists, which I go with. I’m not fond of writing about fucking dogs or dead people, and I’d never write about adults having sex with children in any light!
What role do you think toys play in sex? They’re all dicks.
Do you think food has a place in sex? Not in my bed.
What do you think of role play? I’m too literal to get there. I’ve tried it twice and both times couldn’t stop laughing long enough to go through with it.
Would you prefer to be the submissive or the dominant? I will never be submissive or “a submissive.” (Of course, you’re welcome to try if you don’t value your tenders.)
What’s your favorite ménage trios: M/M/F, M/F/F, M/M/M, or F/F/F? M/M/M
What do you think of orgies? The more the merrier!
What’s the spiciest thing you can think of right now? Jalapeño cheese sauce!
What do you find the most challenging about being a writer? Answering interview questions!
Are you a plotter or panster? Plotter.
What’s the one thing readers can always count on when they pick up a book written by you? A plethora of emotions and turns when you least expect them.
If you could be any mythical/fantasy creature what would you be and why? The Almighty, Big Papa, as my character Zag calls Him. Why? Need you ask?
What do you think is sexy? A lingering looks, a peaceful smile, and strength at the right moment.
What’s your latest work? I have Divinity coming out on November 7, at Riptide Publishing.
Where can your fans find you?
