Magic and Erotica by Kiki Howell
I’m always trying to push the boundaries in my writing, to create something new. So, when I write an erotic story, I am no different. So how do I vary sex scenes, part A going into part B to create feeling C? I like to do that, to spice things up with paranormal creatures and their powers, whether witch or vampire or shifter or any other being. In my worlds, the natures of these creatures are heightened, gifted, and romance and sex is no different.
My favorite way to heighten sex is through the use of sex magick. Here, sex and the energy it creates, is used to power a spell. In the non-fiction world of publishing, there are numerous books on the subject which speak of ways of making a person, through foreplay and BDSM, enter an altered consciousness where an intention can be sent out into the universe. Crank that up a notch when the witch performing the spell has otherworldly abilities, like the touch of her fingers bringing fire or ice, and now part A has never felt Part B in quite this way, and thus the feelings of C are, well, out of this world. Trick here is to find the right words to describe such an experience 😉
I thrive on sexual tension though, reading or writing. Here, paranormal gifts and even limitations of the species, say a vampire’s bloodlust, creates a danger or a forbidden love, that makes that inevitable moment of two bodies joining, due to an otherworldly attraction, heightened with or without the added supernatural powers.
There is just so much to play with when your imagination creates the world. In my newest novel, Irreconcilable Differences, where a wizard and sorcerer not only battle attraction but the stereotypical differences between their magic that keeps them apart, I had way too much fun writing scenes of sexual magick, where their battles took magical turns. Rather than the heated words usually thrown between two people fighting their attraction, it was magick and spells used to vanish clothing or to entice with a magical touch – no hands on skin required 🙂
Irreconcilable Differences Blurb:
In a world where wizards and sorcerers do not get along due to differences in their magic, sorcerer, Aaron is hired to guard the wizard, Myleana. However, the attraction between them once locked in an unusual lab under his own wall of protection ignites in otherworldly ways.
When they come under attack and all they believed in becomes questionable, will these two remain separated by their world’s prejudices? Will the lies, betrayals and opinions of even their own families stand in the way of the alchemy of sex, especially when sorcery and wizardry come into play?
