Indulging in Fantasies by Kristine Cayne
Hello everyone, and thank you to Erotica for All for hosting me. Today, I’m going to talk about fantasies—what they are and why we should have them. Let’s start!
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines fantasy as: the power or process of creating especially unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need <an object of fantasy>; also: a mental image or a series of mental images (as a daydream) so created <sexual fantasies>.
Psychology Today (http://www.psychologytoday.com/articles/200910/the-safest-sex) reports that 95% of adults, both men and women, admit to having sexual fantasies.
But how many of us have dared to share our sexual fantasies with our friends or even our partners and spouses? I don’t know the statistics, but I’m betting it’s less than half.
So why the taboo?
In 1908, Freud theorized that “a happy person never fantasizes, only a dissatisfied one.” Eventually, this evolved into the common fallacy that fantasies were compensation for a lack of sexual fulfillment.
Fortunately, opinions on the subject are changing. According to Leitenberg and Henning (report in Psychological Bulletin), data from studies shows what many of us already know: people who fantasize a lot have more fun in bed. And that fun includes having sex more often, more experimentation, more partners, and more masturbation than people who fantasize less. Mental health experts now believe that the lack of sexual fantasies is, in fact, pathological.
Now that we all know that having fantasies is a necessary requirement to having a healthy sex life, let’s break down the barriers!
Lauren James, the heroine of Deadly Obsession, has been a widow for five years. Three years before the start of the book, she and some friends go see a movie starring the sexy Nic Lamoureux. Since then, Nic has been starring in every one of her private fantasies. When she meets him in person, the fantasies continue, spurred on by actual knowledge of his talents. As their relationship progresses, she wonders if he’ll be able to live up to the lover she’s created in her mind. Rest assured, as his name suggests, Nic is a lover beyond compare 🙂
Have you ever fantasized about someone—a movie star, a singer, a neighbor, or a co-worker? Don’t be shy. Most of us have. And now that we know fantasies lead to more fun in bed, something our partners and spouses will surely appreciate, we have no reason to feel guilty about it. So go on, ladies and gents! Indulge in a fantasy!
Closing her eyes, Lauren gave in to the desire, the need to feel him near, and drifted into one of her favorite fantasies. She wasn’t normally an exhibitionist, not even close, but in her fantasies, she could explore situations she’d never dare to in real life…
She’s in some sort of Midwestern redneck bar wearing a peasant blouse, a long loose skirt, cowboy boots and nothing else. The lights are low and a band plays loudly in the corner. She leans against a tall wooden table, watching people dance in front of her. She closes her eyes, letting the music sweep through her, setting her hips to swaying.
Hands slip under the edge of her shirt, searing her skin as a warm mouth nips the sensitive flesh of her neck just below her ear. His touch and his smell tell her this man is Nic. With a smile, she turns her head to kiss him. She traces the seam of his lips until they part, the taste of the Guinness he’s been drinking thick on his tongue. His strong arm around her waist pulls her tightly against his groin, where he is hot, hard, and ready. His hands skim up her ribcage, smoothing their way to her breasts, which he cups and kneads. She gasps. Her back arches in pleasure, her peaked nipples poking his palms, begging for attention. Gently, he rolls them between his thumbs and forefingers, creating a pleasurable friction. Then he increases the pressure and adds a tugging motion that ratchets up her need, making her want more.
She squirms and pushes her bottom against his erection until his length is eased between the cheeks of her butt. The only thing separating her flesh from his is the thin material of her skirt. Reaching back, she grasps him in her hand, her mind reeling at the feel of him, the strength, the heat, the long hardness. Looking over her shoulder into his eyes, she whispers, “I need you inside me, now.”
“Your wish is my command.” He grins as he tugs the back of her skirt up. “Face forward.” His voice is breathless, urgent like her own.
Beyond all sanity and desperate to have him where she needs him, she complies but loops an arm around his neck, pulling his head down so his beard-roughened cheek rests against her shoulder. The blunt head of his erection presses against her opening but doesn’t go farther. Unable to wait, she pushes back, but he grips her hips with his hands, holding her in place. When she grumbles, he lightly bites her neck, then soothes it with a swirl of his tongue.
“Please,” she begs.
She can’t see his triumphant grin but she can feel it as his lips curve against her sensitive skin. She is rewarded when he begins to stretch her, filling the emptiness in her body, in her heart.
As the tempo of the music increases, Nic speeds up his strokes to match. Together they are dancing, pressed tightly, swaying to the beat of the music along with the crowd. One of Nic’s hands returns to a breast to tweak and tug at her nipple while the other slips under her skirt and one long finger finds her nub. With slow circular motions in time with his strokes, he brings her higher and higher. She writhes against him. Her arms thrash, her legs shake. As the music reaches its crescendo…
A powerful orgasm roared through Lauren’s body, igniting every nerve ending in its path. Until finally, spent, shaking, her breath coming in rapid gasps, she descended from the peak.
As a figment of her imagination, Nic The Lover was beyond compare. Would she ever find out if the real Nic could live up to the fantasy?
