Why I Write Vampire Erotica
By Roxanne Rhoads
I am a paranormal fan from way back. I don’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t enjoy seeking out things which made me shiver.
I loved books about witches and ghosts and haunted houses, I adored Gothic romances that hinted at possible paranormal activity but didn’t always deliver, then I moved on to creepier books by Dean Koontz and Stephen King …at the tender age of 9. But it wasn’t until I found a copy of Anne Rice’s Interview with a Vampire at a yard sale when I was 10 or 11 that I truly became hooked on vampires.
From then on I was a vampire groupie.
As I got older my adoration of men with fangs blossomed into a serious attraction (*cough obsession*).
But why? In vampire fiction there is almost always an undercurrent of sexual desire- in newer fiction it’s not always an undercurrent but a blatant in your face eroticism.
That’s what I write. Mostly.
I write a lot of stuff but my favorite is paranormal erotica. Sure I write erotic romance with everyday people too but the allure of paranormal erotica is just so strong.
I think women are always dreaming of magic. The magic first time, that magic sexual experience that just rocks our world and makes our toes curl.
It’s sad though that in real life not too many of us experience extreme out of the ordinary magical love making.
So we fantasize about men who are so much more. Men that really know what they’re doing. Men who have more to offer than your average sexual romp.
And who better to offer us that than the immortal vampire.
Sex appeal is how he lures in his “victims”, fear makes the blood pump faster, adrenaline makes everything more intense, and the pheromones he exudes will make your knees weak before he even touches you.
Then once he gets his immortal hands on you- his strength and skill will blow your mind. After countless years, decades, centuries the man should know how to make love to a woman. Then you add in super strength and maybe a little magic and you have an out of this world fantasy sexual experience- and that’s before he sinks his fangs into you for that extreme orgasmic bite.
Now that is something I want to not only read about- but I want to make my own fantasy come true- if only on the pages in front of me.
That’s why I write vampire erotica. Not because vampires became so popular thanks to Twilight, but because vampires were my ultimate fantasy men long before Meyer’s sparkling vamps came into existence (like a decade or two).
I don’t write what’s popular, I write what I love. And I love me some vampires. 😉
Two of my newest releases from Noble Romance feature sexy vampire men- An Unexpected Evening and No Place I’d Rather Be.
An Unexpected Evening is my personal favorite. Samuel is the epitome of male vampire hawtness.
Many of my books contain vampires as you see they are my favorite subject matter.
So today I’d love to give one lucky reader the chance to sample one of my backlisted vampire ebook titles.
I am giving away one pdf of choice from the following list of my books:
Each one contains an erotic vampire story by yours truly-
Eternal Desire is a stand alone set in New Orleans at Halloween (this one is another of my favorites, these two characters will eventually have a follow up book)
Lust Bites is a collections of erotic vampire stories and contains 2 of my vampire erotica fiction tales (one written under the pen name Adrienne Rose)
Like That Spark contains “A Last Goodbye” which is a menage vampire story, f/f/m, the vampire is female.
Torrid Teasers Volume 59 is a duo of paranormal erotic stories- Renata is a vampire tale, the female vampire has succubus tendencies.
Dark Pleasures is another paranormal anthology, this one features my short story “Cemetery Seduction” about a half witch, half vampire named Abby who is on the run and happens to stumble across a sexy ghost hunter in a cemetery.
