Here’s an author interview with Avis Andrews. Take it away, Avis…
- How did you start writing erotica?
I’ve had a very steamy life, but never really put pen to paper about my experiences until very recently! Writing has always come easy to me, and I’ve worked for many years as a copy editor. But the job is very boring. One night, while particularly aroused, I decided to try my hand at erotica—and before I knew it, ‘Pounding’ was born! And I feel I’ve found my calling. Hopefully one day I can quit my day job and write erotica full time.
- What’s your favourite published work of yours and why?
Right now I only have one published work, ‘Pounding’, so that’s my obvious favorite. But, I’m currently working on my next one, called ‘Riding’, and that one is coming along quite well. In fact, I think it may be my best work yet!
- Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I’ve always been a very randy girl, though one might not think that when they first look at me. I’m quite conservative and shy. But, with the right someone, I truly come alive. I’m sure anyone can tell from reading my stories just how hot my bedroom gets.
- Do you have an unusual writing rituals?
I love to write in the bath. Not even with a pen or paper or anything, just in my mind, with my eyes closed. And then when I get out of the bath, the words flow quite easily. I supposed the fact that I use a typewriter could be considered unusual. I’m kind of old-fashioned. Typewriters just seem way more elegant (and erotic) to me!
- Do your nearest and dearest know what you do?
Absolutely not! I had a very strict upbringing, and the news might send my parents to an early grave! I’m exaggerating of course, but they might be quite cross, and confused. I’m definitely a ‘good girl’ in their eyes. They know nothing of I become when the sun goes down…
- How do you get yourself in the mood to write?
Haha, well… I think for me, the ‘mood’ gets me in the mood to write, if you catch my drift. When I’m at my wettest, the words flow the best.
- If you could bring one of your characters to life, which one would it be and why?
I would love to get my hands on Tom and Lucy, from ‘Pounding’. What a beautiful couple! They’re based on ex lovers that I should probably give a call… it’s been too long!
