Dressed in Black: Erotic Tales of Edgar Allan Poe
Deadline: February 15th, 2018
Details: Murder. Revenge. Madness. These are the hallmarks of Edgar Allan Poe’s fiction. But so are love, longing, and loss. It may seem strange, at first blush, to compile a collection of erotica inspired by Poe’s work. Much of his writing explores themes of death and isolation. But gothic fiction has long been ripe ground for examining human sexuality and Poe’s work in particular is overdue for just such an agitation.
Circlet Press is looking for erotic horror flash fiction to be published on our website during the month of October.
Deadline is October 1st and stories must be under 1500 words.
Payment is $5 per story and multiple submissions are okay.
Circlet Press is seeking short erotic horror to post on its website during the month of October. Stories must be under 1500 words and pay is $5 per microfiction. Multiple submissions are okay as is any gender pairing. Deadline is October 1st.
Stories must contain both elements of erotica and horror/spooky/Halloween themes. I am okay with anything that ranges from serious to funny and I am open to all tropes (vampires, ghosts, werewolves, etc) so long as your idea is fresh and engaging.
MakerSex: Erotic Stories of Geeks, Hackers, and DIY Projects
Edited by Annabeth Leong
Deadline: September 30, 2014
Maker culture mashes together technological enthusiasm and a DIY punk ethos. It is about learning and doing, shaping the world, getting around the system, and making strange new things because you can. Skill is powerful, subversive—and sexy. Send me stories infused with the scent of hot solder, the flash of fabric sewn with conductive thread, the thrill of ingenuity, and the hotness of all things becoming possible. Your DIY stories could be near-future science fiction or cyberpunk, but they could also take place in far-flung galaxies, in the garage of a ham-radio enthusiast, or in the shadowy workshops of hacker mages. I want to believe in the plausibility of your DIY world, but that doesn’t require a technical manual. Give me a story that’s as much driven by hot sex and changing characters as it is by compelling projects and technical acumen.
Deadline: November 15, 2012
One of the most enduring factors in human existence, yet one of the most mysterious and least domesticated, is the concept of luck. Call it fate, fortune, chance, serendipity, karma, or superstition. We have a thousand rituals to ward off bad luck and bring on good luck, not to mention that “getting lucky” is an idiom for having sex. How often do we unthinkingly say “It must be my lucky day?” or “As Fate would have it…” or even “Better luck next time?” For good or bad, this intangible force surrounds and influences us, often in ways we can’t explain. Whether we’re talking about lucky pennies or Lady Luck, black cats or Friday the 13th, we know something out there is trying to keep things…interesting. In this anthology explore the sexy side of fortune and fate. Was it happenstance that brought two lovers together, or a carefully manipulated skein of probability? Did that winning lottery ticket come by accident, or design? Did a miscast spell or whimsical genie alter the course of some poor sap’s life? Is our hero a coin flip away from the hottest encounter of his life?
