How did you start writing erotica?
I started writing erotica way back in 2005. I was an avid reader of Literotica.com for several years before that and, because I speed read, I found that there just weren’t enough new stories in my favored categories each day. I was craving more and so I figured, why not try writing some? I’d written in the past, usually stories for school, so I thought I’d try my hand at writing something sexy. To my relief and delight, I received positive and helpful feedback from my first couple of stories and then I was just off and running.

This sexy anthology, edited by Alison Tyler, contains fourteen erotic stories, all centred around the theme of kink. Naturally, this is a pretty broad topic, and I’m glad to say that the stories that Tyler chose for the collection are all incredibly varied.
Kinks featured include being written on, submission, pony play, watersports (yes, that kind), spanking and much, much more. Authors include Saskia Walker, Donna George Storey, Mathilde Madden, Emerald, Jeremy Edwards, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Shanna Germain and Alison Tyler herself. All the stories were well-written and edited, and, as I mentioned before, the variety between the stories is great – some of the kinks covered are at the more gentle end of the spectrum, and others are pretty hardcore. As a result, not every story will be for everyone – as is always the way in anthologies, I feel – but erotica fans will undoubtedly find something to float their boat between the pages of this hot collection. Recommended for fans of the genre.
It’s been a little while since I read an anthology, and I’m glad I decided to pick this one up. Obsessed is edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel and contains some authors well known in the erotic romance genre – Portia Da Costa, Justine Elyot, Charlotte Stein, Kristina Wright, Elizabeth Coldwell and K D Grace to name but a few. The theme, as you’ve probably already guessed, is obsession, and it was very interesting to see how the authors interpreted this theme in so many different ways.
There were non-speaking scenes, bosses and employees, earthquakes, car breakdowns, new neighbours, illicit and risky trysts, and much more. The variety was amazing, as was the writing. There were some stories which stood out for me, and really resonated, but overall, there wasn’t a bad tale nestled between these covers. Sure, I liked some better than others, but that’s always going to be the case in an anthology. I’d definitely recommend this to erotic romance fans – it’s hot!
