The first sentence I wrote back in 2011 was for my paranormal romance novel, Fractured Moon. It was, “Time doesn’t heal all wounds, handy lie though it may be, time forces acceptance of what cannot be changed.”
I never set out to write erotic romance, or erotic fiction. I had a paranormal story in my head, Aurelia and Ceithin whispering werewolf words to me, but once I got started, the sexy just rolled off my finger tips.
Looking back, I think writing poetry played a big part in how I strung words together. I love alliteration, and I find when I re-read things I wrote, it’s a natural occurrence within my words.
Writing flash fiction helped condense what I wanted to say within the confines of 100 or 200 words. These exercises were pivotal in shaping my style and voice.
Originally, I thought I’d write mostly urban fantasy or paranormal thrillers, and I’m often surprised when I look at my back list and see a whole lot of sexy stories. The Hot Lunch Series took me by surprise, but I’m so happy they came. (Ha!) Over the past year, I’ve gravitated toward compact stories with a heaping tablespoon full of emotion and sexual angst.
For me, long word counts (75K+) seem so daunting. Like I’ll never get there or finish. Some of my problem is I lack focus right now, having had four kids home for the summer, being the mom, wife, housekeeper, cook, etc. It left no time for me. I was exhausted. (I think I’ll be exhausted forever, right parents?)
But now the kids are back in school and I have no excuse. My short series are all complete now, and I have to get back into Aurelia’s world to finish Moon Justice. Then I have plans for a move in a new direction. A new pen name, a new world filled with paranormal creatures and a kick ass heroine named Luna. I’m not where I thought I’d be, but in the wise words of Lao Tzu, “If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”

The Hot Lunch Series
Eating Out
Samantha Baker isn’t interested in being another notch on Ryan Fellows bedpost, but she can’t deny he’s got style, charisma, and prowess. When he invites her to have lunch out of the blue, she finds she can’t ignore the way his eyes caress her, nor the way he seems to know exactly what she needs…
Contains references to light BDSM in the form of a spanking, and Samantha must call Ryan “Sir.”
Hot or Cold
Ryan and Samantha are back, and steamier than ever…
Samantha Baker spies a present waiting on her desk when she arrives at work one morning, and her heart skips a beat as she realizes it’s from Ryan. What sexual escapes does he have in store for her this time?
Can Ryan give up his rigid restraint and schedules in favor of impulse and passion?
Will Samantha be the one to make him lose control?
Table for Two
The third installment of the Hot Lunch Saga is here! Will Ryan and Samantha work out their differences, come together and find love? Or will their pasts tear them apart? The erotic romance continues…
Ryan and Samantha met at work and started a lunch time affair in Eating Out that quickly morphed into a sexy relationship in Hot or Cold. Now in Table for Two, they must decide if their past baggage is worth the risk, or whether they should go their separate ways.
After the events in Hot or Cold, Samantha finds herself alone, confused, and pissed off. Ryan is nowhere to be found, and she goes to great lengths in Table for Two to track him down and make him see reason.
