Succubi Love With Louisa Bacio
A Date with Death isn’t a succubus story. The concept though – being made love to by a ghostly visitor – has haunted me since reading Anne Rice’s The Witching Hour. A few of my unpublished stories play with the theme, and the underlying concept surfaces with this novella.
After hearing about Decadent Publishing’s 1Night Stand series, and the call for paranormal stories in particular last year, my mind turned toward the slightly macabre. Certainly, many people fantacise about a loved one returning from the great beyond, or perhaps never losing them in the first place. The concept is central to classics such as Stephen King’s Pet Sematary and Tim Burton’s new animated release “Frankenweenie.”
What about a blind date with someone who’s already passed on to the great beyond? What if the person was so corporal (had a body) that you couldn’t tell s/he wasn’t “alive?” Ah, the inspiration was laid, and I got to writing. The big “what if” though, was how to make this story a happily ever after.
Some of my other books definitely veer into the more traditional paranormal realms – vampires, witches, werewolves and – hopefully upcoming – jaguar shifters. Without the ghostly aspect, A Date with Death is a simple contemporary romance. But, there always has to be that little special something, right?
It’s the perfect treat for that Halloween read.
Thanks so much for hosting me on Erotica for All, Lucy. It’s always a pleasure to visit!

Blurb:
Death sucks. It’s boring, and there’s no chance of getting laid. Stuck in the waiting room of Heaven, Maise fantasizes about all the pleasures of the flesh she didn’t get to experience. When Maise discovers a business card for the dating service, 1Night Stand, she wonders if there’s still a chance.
Reece normally wouldn’t consider being set up, but after his brother buys him a certificate, he feels obligated. A romantic night on the Southern California coast, with the full-of-life Maise leaves him wanting more.
Will a 1Night Stand be enough to overcome death?
