Employee of the MonthEmployee of the Month by Tracey Rogers is definitely more romance than erotica, but it’s also hot enough to warrant being reviewed here.

This is the story of Holly Wilder, a hotel employee who’s having a fling with her boss, Max Lazzari – despite all the rules stating that they shouldn’t. It’s a casual thing – the two only see each other once a month, when Max comes to the hotel Holly works at to present the Employee of the Month award. The secret arrangement suits them both perfectly – neither of them are looking for commitment, and the sizzling hot sex certainly keeps their bodies happy. So much so that both of them increasingly look forward to their monthly tryst. That is until they have a shock – Holly’s pregnant! Can the two of them overcome all their issues in order to deal with the hand life has given them? Or is heartbreak in their futures?

I really enjoyed this book – the characters are rounded and believable, the writing style is light and engaging and I found the storyline intriguing. The sizzling sexual tension between the characters is palpable, too. So if you’re looking for a romance read with plenty of heat, you should definitely check out this book.

Counting Cowboys TeaserI am often asked what inspires me as a writer. How do I come up with all the ideas? Does someone give me the idea and I write it? How exactly does it work?

My ideas are mine for the most part. I do chat with other writers who sometimes give me ideas on plots and I use them. Ideas come to me in handfuls. Sometimes I think I could write a book titled Ideas for Writers. I’m sure many writers feel the same way.

I typically write whatever idea is strongest in my mind at the time and do my best to keep the other ideas pushed away in a file for later on. I usually struggle the most when I have to write the next idea in a series and I’m not ready to write it.

eBook Review: It’s Just Love by Kate Richards

It's Just LoveIt’s Just Love is an erotic romance novella by Kate Richards, published by Beachwalk Press. It tells the story of avid surfer and skilled witch, Coral Nixie. She feels her life is pretty good – she lives just a few blocks from her beloved beach, and her beautiful home is somewhere she helps people to solve their relationship problems. It’s just a shame she doesn’t have a relationship of her own. Not the easiest thing to solve when you’re a virgin witch.

Coral’s life has a big shake up when she’s persuaded to go onto a TV show and defend her version of love therapy against Gage Middleton, author and relationship counsellor. While Coral’s methods are more vague, Gage has a specific set of “factors” which can determine whether two people will have success in a relationship. Naturally, this leads to trouble between the two – something the TV show host delights in. To cause further discomfort to Coral and Gage, the host then dares them to follow another couple on their first three dates, and use their skills to determine the couple’s future.

Despite their polar opposites – in both career choice and personality – Coral and Gage surprise themselves by discovering they’re attracted to each other. Can a hippy witch and a strait-laced relationship counsellor possibly be a good match? Will they overcome their differences and recognise love for what it is – it’s just love.

I really enjoyed this erotic romance novella. It’s an easy read with engaging, likeable characters, lots of quirky twists and turns and some unexpected results. The writing style is absorbing, light-hearted and fun, and the tale has a few laughs along the way. There’s also some smokin’ hot sex. Overall, It’s Just Love is a book I’d definitely recommend to erotic romance fans. The journey is exciting and fun, and leads to a very satisfactory conclusion.

eBook Review: Grading on Curves by Tara Mills

Grading on CurvesGrading on Curves is an erotic romance novel by Tara Mills, published by Beachwalk Press. It tells the story of Mia Page, a woman who’s been divorced for four years and is bringing up her son. She’s still good friends with her ex, but since their divorce she’s had no interest in men whatsoever, no dating, nothing.

But when she sees an incredibly sexy man in the local coffee shop, she can’t help but stare – and she’s not the only one. He seems to cause quite the stir among women, so Mia’s shocked when he seems to be looking back at her. After leaving the shop, she thinks about the gorgeous young man some more, fantasises about him even, but doesn’t except to see him again.

That is, until she discovers that the coffee shop man is indeed one of her son’s teachers. Curt Walden teaches science, and when the two of them bump into one another again, there’s awkwardness about the coffee shop encounter. Once again, Mia walks away feeling flustered, never thinking her attraction to the young teacher could come to anything. But then Curt asks her son, Casey, for her phone number and everything changes.

She can scarcely believe it, but Curt is massively attracted to her, too. They start spending time together and the chemistry between them is intense, but still Mia finds it difficult to let go. She can’t believe that a relationship between them would last, but eventually she gives into temptation, and hers and Curt’s relationship becomes sexual. Mia holds tightly onto her heart, desperate to keep it safe, but as their romance blossoms, she worries that the young teacher will eventually hurt her. There are just too many differences between them, the age gap, lifestyles, wants for the future… So when the two of them attend an event together, Mia’s so on edge about what people think that she unintentionally hurts Curt, chasing him out of her life.

Will she chase after him, try to make amends? Or is their romance over without having had a chance?

Grading on Curves is an excellent read. I enjoyed it very much. Everything about it felt so real – the storyline, the characters, the chemistry, the hot sex. I found myself rooting for Mia and Curt from the very beginning, hoping they could work out their differences. I’m not going to give anything away, but let’s just say if you’re a fan of erotic romances, you should definitely check out this fabulous novel. Recommended.

When Ray makes her an offer – to have sex with him and his equally sexy cousin, Cal – will she have the courage to go through with it? It’s what she’s fantasised about for so long, but is it right to make the fantasy reality, and will she regret it if she does? Will she regret it if she doesn’t?

Amber’s torn so many ways, that when a chance comes for them to be together without repercussions, she’s incredibly tempted to take it. But there’s more to the attraction between Amber and Ray than meets the eye – is she fulfilling a longed-for desire at the expense of true love? Or can she have both? More barriers are thrust up between them, but if they really want to be together, then they’ll do their best to leap them.

Amber’s Fantasy was a great read. I loved the everyday, realistic setting and the equally realistic characters with their hopes, dreams and fantasies. I found myself rooting for Amber to get what she wanted from the very beginning, and also enjoyed the fact the story was told from both Amber and Ray’s points of view, so you could see what was happening in both their heads. Amber’s plight was interesting and intriguing, and this well-written, romantic and steamy story is definitely worth a read for erotic romance fans, especially if they’re partial to ménage.
