Here’s an author interview with Jacey Holbrand. Take it away, Jacey…
- How did you start writing erotica?
I’ve been writing under a couple of other pen names for years now in m/f romance and m/f erotic romance with a splash of menage and m/m here and there. I wanted to focus more on the m/m, menage, kink and smut without condemnation from family and certain friends so I created my Jacey pen name and have been published under the name since 2014.
- What’s your favourite published work of yours and why?
Though I really like my mpreg/sci-fi series and my Morris family saga, so far my favorite published work is my menage, futuristic, sci-fi story, Charmed, since it’s led into another story I’ve been working on where I’ve been able to create another alien world. I love me some sci-fi!
- Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Simple – from everywhere and anything. I could hear a line on the tv or from a song or see something mundane in the store and my muse goes, “Hey! How about…” I’ve also drawn inspiration from coffee dates with another writer and our conversations.
- Do your nearest and dearest know what you do, and if so, what was their reaction when they found out?
Yes. My family knows about my other names. Some won’t read that stuff since they don’t like how sexual the stories are, and DH is good with me. Only two people in real life know about my Jacey name (DH and a friend) and they’re cool with it and happy that I’m finding my niche.
- What was your ideal career when you were a child?
When I was younger I wanted to be an astronaut and a teacher. Then when I hit puberty, I realized I just wanted to be a writer. I’ve done varied things over the years, including teaching and obviously writing. Now I just have to wait for space travel to be opened to the public.
- What’s the best writing tip you’ve ever been given?
Plant ass in chair and write.
- If you get writer’s block when you’re writing, how do you get around it?
Do blog posts. Do chores. Try writing in another location. Run errands. Basically anything to change up the setting and let whatever I’m stuck on run in the background of my mind until I get unstuck.
- What are you working on at the moment?
As of December 2015 I’m currently working on the last two books in my The Agency series (mpreg/sci-fi), the next story in my Glorious Guild series (futuristic/sci-fi) as well as the next book in my Morris family saga (romantic erotica).
