Devil’s Game is the third book in the Reapers MC series by Joanna Wylde, and I’m still enjoying it very much, and looking forward to the next book.
This book does actually repeat quite a bit of the previous book, but from a different respective, which was a shame, really. Having said that, it did allow us to learn more about the central characters – Liam “Hunter” Blake and Em Hayes. He’s a Devil’s Jack, she’s the daughter of the president of the Reapers. It’s an explosive mix – especially when circumstances throw them together, and although there should be hatred between them, there’s so much more.
Hunter genuinely wants Em, but he’s loyal to his club. They’re his family, and he’ll do anything for them. But when it comes to Em, things become increasingly complicated.
Em is also loyal to her club, her family, but she also bears a lot of resentment. Her dad, Picnic, is incredibly overprotective, and shot the last boyfriend she had. So, naturally, it’s difficult to find guys that aren’t terrified of dating her. When she does find one, she’s delighted. But all is not as it seems…
This was a very good book. As I said before, it was a shame that some of the story had already been covered in the previous book, so sometimes I really felt like I’d read it before. But it was a good opportunity to explore the hearts and minds of Hunter and Em, find out what makes them tick, and, ultimately, how their story would turn out.
Overall, another very well-written and engaging read from Wylde, with lots of seriously hot sexy moments. I’m very much looking forward to reading Picnic’s story.
