If there’s one thing I hate about being single, it’s the fact that friends and relatives seem compelled to try to find me a boyfriend – one that will turn into a husband for me fairly quick. It’s like an obsession with them.

They try to be sneaky about it, too. I get invited to watch games (football, baseball, whatever-ball) on their big screen televisions. Or I get invited to barbeques/cookouts. I’m thinking “Free food”. They’re thinking wedding vows, and I can’t imagine what the poor hapless fellow is thinking.

Honestly, if I wanted to be fixed up, I’d say so.

I know my friends and relatives are only doing it because they want to see me happy. They’re intentions are good.
