I loved writing ‘Silk Stockings’ for this fabulous new collection, ‘The Secret Library,’ and Michael and Imogen were such lovely characters to develop. My fans will probably find this a bit of a departure from my other work. For some years now I’ve been writing mainly erotic fiction. However, I’ve now come out of the closet under my romantic fiction name of Constance Munday, having been pressed over the last year or so to come clean, so to speak – find my voice and tell everyone that yes, I’m a romantic novelist too. I do hope my loyal fan base will enjoy this new me, although don’t worry I’m still writing, sizzling hot pure erotica too.
Anyway, onto ‘Silk Stockings.’ I was aware before I even got into the story that I wanted to blend a tiny bit of crime into this one to make it exciting and I love setting stories in new and exciting places and playing with periods in history. This story has a bit of both. For some reasonBerlinreally suited my character Imogen and lends the right atmosphere to the tale; a bit dark, a bit edgy and most definitely sexy.
As it is the story is a hot romantic tale with plenty of spice and a strong emotional element. Without giving too much away, you’ll find out that things are going to get tricky for my sassy heroine Imogen when she meets Michael. Michael is everything Imogen’s past lovers have not been – rich, successful but also a tender romantic hero. Rapidly Imogen falls in love but she’s petrified. For years now she’s been fleeing her dark demons and protecting a dark secret which is close to her heart. Now, right when she thinks she could have found true happiness a dark spectre from her past is closing in on her and threatening all she holds dear as she’s pursued in more ways than one.
Truly in love at last. Should Imogen flee completely and leave the man she loves or can she risk revealing to Michael the truth?

Constance has always been a bookworm and ever since childhood wanted to be a novelist. Her dream came true several years ago when having seen a TV interview on romance and erotic writing she decided take the plunge. When asked, she says there was never really any doubt what she wanted to do, writing was just a passion.
She writes romance and romantic erotica under the name Constance Munday and pure erotica under the name Alcamia Payne.
Asked what her first love in writing is, she will always say hot romantic and passionate stories with an edge, but she also loves writing contemporary stories, historicals and is an avid science fiction, horror and fantasy buff.
She hopes that her work will always be fresh and thought provoking and give the reader something to think about; as she says, ‘there’s nothing I won’t tackle and if I come up with a simple idea for a story whether it’s mainstream, gay, lesbian or fantasy – I’ll have a crack at it, even if it draws a bit of controversy – which sometimes it does. I like to be continually writing and trying out new ideas and I always favour writing a story with a strong and passionate romance as its basis and with strong characters who are a bit different and able to accept their faults and use them.’
She loves giving talks about books and magic, is an ardent lover of nature and cats and enjoys ballet, Victorian costume, collecting books, buttons and crystals and travelling. Recently criticism over the shortness of her stories has led her to concentrate more on novellas and novels. Her new novel ‘Chickadee’ is out with Total-E-Bound in the summer with more to follow with other publishers and lots of exciting projects in the pipeline.
She’s delighted to be involved with the fabulous ‘Secret Library,’ collection.
