I love watching Hustle, the UK TV series. The show centers around a group of con artists. Albert Stroller has to be one of the greatest characters ever, played by the incomparable Robert Vaughn. When my husband sat me down, he told me, “Vaughn is one of my favorite actors because he has this ability to deliver a line like it just popped into his head.” I also watch White Collar and Leverage and of course Law and Order. Other awesome series I love to watch are Spooks, Life on Mars, and one of my favorites, Psych.
(Oh God, I still cry when Lennie packs up his desk at the end of his last episode on Law and Order.)
Anyway, the research went beyond just watching crime dramas. I had to research SOCA, or Serious Organised Crime Agency, but have you ever tried to research a government agency that is so surrounded with secrecy? I think I would have been better off research the CIA or SIS (MI6)… or maybe not.
Then there was the Fabergé egg. I had to look at all the different eggs and for a while, I was caught up in that because they are all so pretty and shiny! Then I had to research proper address for the grandson of an Earl. I can’t ask my husband because he says, “Please tell me you’re not writing about the aristocracy.” *sigh* Anyway, the hot men of “The Long Con” Tony and Bradley begged me to get started on their story and it all came back to romance.
The only thing I didn’t have to research was the separation they went through. I knew all too well the loss when the borders of two countries force you apart from a loved one. Even in Tony and Bradley’s darkest moment, I still had hope for them, that they might just have a happily ever after.

British Agent Nathaniel Bradley is tasked with bringing home a stolen heirloom. After tracking the Faberge egg all the way to a group of criminals in New York, Bradley infiltrates a ring of con artists and gets sucked into the role of a high priced prostitute.
While hoping for a chance to take back what is rightfully his, Bradley’s sole mission becomes to seduce Tony Terranova, Jr, the heir to a notorious mafia dynasty. Though Tony is strikingly handsome, the usually dominant Bradley is hesitant to submit to the sexual whims of a dangerous Mafioso.
What Bradley doesn’t expect is for Tony to fall to his knees so eagerly for him, leaving him blindsided by how intensely their dark tastes complement each other. Now Bradley is caught up in a deadly game of lies and desire, where what he truly wants may not be what duty requires.

I love White Collar…and Leverage. Gotta love Neal Caffrey’s suave, charming, intelligent, and good-looking con man. And who doesn’t love Mozzie??

Hi Joanne!
Not everyone can get into Psych but that’s okay 🙂 I hope you enjoy Hustle.
And yeah, it’s been a great tour! I’m tired though, I have to admit 🙂

I’ve got to look for Hustle…I do love Leverage and White Collar, and I still watch Psych. I prefer the earlier Psych episodes, though; I find that the writers are painting Shawn with broader strokes these days, and Gus seems to get a raw deal in every episode lately. Of course, I’m probably just angry that the writers insist on pairing Shawn with Jules instead of Gus, who is obviously his one true love…

Hey Trix! 🙂
Try Amazon for Hustle, although I think Netflix and Amazon Prime have Hustle on streaming (don’t quote me on that)
And yeah. Gus+Shawn=Twu Wuv! (who do you think tops in that pairing?)
Trix says
Gus puts up with so much from Shawn in everyday life that I figure he’d get to take control in bed. On the other hand, since they’re used to improvising a lot, I could definitely see them as switches…
Lori Toland says
I could definitely see them as switches. Especially Shawn. Sometimes… he just has to give it up 😉

Makes sense to me. And believe it or not, one of the northern California libraries (not the most convenient college town, but I get there once a month or so) has all four seasons of Hustle on DVD, I learned last night. I’m on the hold list for the first two seasons as we speak…looking forward to it!

Hi Jibriel,
Hustle is my fave! I love that show. The end of the season is the best episode most of the time. There are a few that had me rolling. I laughed so hard, i hurt the next morning!
I hope you enjoy it!

I enjoy watching Leverage…love their cons and games! And Burn Notice…Michael is the 21st century McGuyver! I think my all-time favorite TV show (aside from L&O…all 3) is Alias. Love the disguises and gadgets of that show.

Hey Karen! 🙂
Do you want Covert Affairs too? Ooh, I love me some hot Auggie, baby! 😀
I watched Alias but then it went away so quickly, it seemed. I have to dig that out again. I like strong female heroines.
Ellie Lang says
Nikita was also pretty great but I love Leverage as well, a favorite TV-show would depend on the genre(Buffy is still an all times favorite).

Hi Ellie 🙂
I never got to see Nikita. I meant to watch it cuz she looked like a bad ass! 🙂

Lennie Brisco was the man! I have seen so many episodes of Law and Oder my family refuses to watch tv with me! That is my favorite show, I especially liked Lennie’s terrible puns!

Lori Toland says
Oh Lennie’s puns made that show.
I still watch the re-runs on TV. 🙂 Those were my favorite years.
