Gregory Allen’s Serving Her is a sequel to Courting Her, a femdom novel that chronicles the budding romance between a latently submissive man and a dominant younger woman. In the current book, the story picks up about a year into Kim and Alex’s relationship with them living together as a domestic couple. At this point Kim has graduated from college and she and Alex are pursuing professional careers.
The couple’s lifestyle leans more toward an organic female-led relationship than it does a classic femdom one. They do not frequent BDSM clubs nor do they have a circle of friends involved in the D/s scene. In fact, their collection of BDSM accoutrement consists of a single cane and a bag of rubber bands.
What they do have is a well-defined role-reversal dynamic complemented with regimens, incentives and punishments. Alex is required to be naked most of the time, even when Kim is not home. She delights in controlling his behavior through orgasm denial, humiliation, corporal punishment, and corner time. Often his rewards involve orally pleasuring her – a win-win situation to be sure.
This book is primarily about the evolution of Kim and Alex’s relationship, so there is not much that is particularly exciting going on short of the periodic sexual scenarios woven into the storyline. The highlights involve Alex volunteering to a prolonged period of chastity to honor their one-year anniversary and outing himself to his friends about the true nature of their relationship.
Readers curious about FLR will appreciate that Serving Her accurately portrays how that lifestyle manifests itself in the lives of some couples. Those who live the life may or may not be drawn to this particular portrait of it. Femdom fans with a taste for intense corporal punishment and humiliation scenarios very likely will find this book to be rather tame, if not outright boring.
