I very much enjoyed Ashe Barker’s previous novel in this imprint, Chameleon (though it’s worth noting all the books in this imprint are standalones), so I was eager to check out this one – set in my favourite city, no less.
La Brat tells the story of Eugenie, a submissive who managed to piss off her Dom so much that he no longer wants anything to do with her. Throwing herself into the BDSM lifestyle, Eugenie knows deep down it’s hollow, that it’s doing nothing for her, so she tries to move on with her life. When she sees a job opportunity at a top notch hotel in Paris, she’s intrigued. What’s more, she really wants it.
However, when she’s lucky enough to land the job, she realises her start won’t be quite as fresh as she’d thought. For the Dom she thought she’d left behind in England now works at the Totally Five Star Paris, and they’ll be close colleagues.
Determined not to let it affect her career, Eugenie remains professional. But it soon becomes apparent her feelings for Aaron can’t be that easily ignored. Especially when it turns out he feels the same.
La Brat was another great read from Ashe Barker. With a backdrop of a stunning, luxurious hotel and a beautiful city, this novel is escapism at its finest. The writing, as always, was fantastic, the plot intriguing and the sex scenes sizzling. If you love M/F BDSM erotic romance novels, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out.
