If you’re a regular reader of my reviews, then I probably sound like a stuck record here, but I do love me a Sommer Marsden book. Once Bitten, Twice Shy tells the story of August Adams, a young woman with a troubled past, a past that’s made her pretty much into a hermit. She doesn’t let people in to her life, so when her new lawn guy – Jack Murphy – literally falls into her life, she’s surprised to feel that she doesn’t want to get rid of him right away.
The handsome, kind Jack is interested in August romantically, and while she’s tempted, she doesn’t feel as though she can let go of her issues and give things a go. But Jack’s patient – and hot. Will he break through August’s defences?
This is a great read. It manages to be sweet, sexy and yet deal with troubling issues all at once. I very much liked the hero and heroine, and rooted for them all along. If you’re looking for an erotic romance with lashings of heat, heartwarming moments and realism, then this is quite the treat.
