The Emerald Room is an erotic short story collection from Scarlett Knight. I’ve read a couple of hers recently and really enjoyed them – this one is no exception. The focus this time is on older men/younger women relationships – or “jackals” as they’re also called.

There are four seriously sexy stories to be enjoyed in this collection. The first, The Emerald Room, is told from the male perspective, is about a piano player who’s been plucking up the courage to approach a customer of the bar he plays in. Before he get chance, however, she gets in first and the results are explosive.

Conference Connection is, as you’d expect, about a conference. A young woman has been lusting over an older man, and is surprised to receive an invitation from him to go to his hotel room. Naturally, she jumps at the chance and a very kinky encounter follows.

Taking Direction is about a talented young actress and her director. On the one hand, he pisses her off because he’s so tough on her. But on the other hand, he gets her libido raging. The story tells what happens when they’re left alone together, and the young actress lets her libido do the talking.

The final story, Without Regret, is my favourite of the four. A student who’s just graduated goes to say goodbye to her favourite professor, who she’s had a crush on for her entire time of being taught by him. After saying her goodbyes, she almost walks away, but then decides she’d rather live a life without regret and tells him how she really feels.

Overall, this is another super hot collection from Scarlett Knight. Her writing is engaging, passionate, and has scenarios you can really believe in. I read the whole thing in one sitting, but this anthology is ideal for reading in bite sized chunks or all at once. Either way, you’ll be feeling hot and bothered when you’re finished. Very hot.

Dirty Poetry is a collection of two erotic short stories by Scarlett Knight, and published by House of Erotica. The theme of this mini-anthology is sex in public – one of my favourites, and I’m glad to say I wasn’t disappointed.

The first tale, Dirty Poetry, takes us on a journey with two good friends and colleagues. They’ve been pussy-footing around one another for a long time, but they finally express romantic interest in one another on their way home from a dinner. They stop at a rest stop, and by a strange set of circumstances, the two of them end up in a super hot clinch in the bathroom.

The Undressing Room, which is the second tale in the anthology, details anniversary sex with a difference. A couple are out shopping for outfits for their anniversary celebration, when the woman needs help undoing the dress she’s trying on. The assistant is nowhere to be seen, and so her partner steps in. What happens next is a seriously hot encounter in the dressing room, yum!

This is the second collection of Scarlett’s work that I’ve read, and I’ve enjoyed both. I really like her writing style, I find it engaging and easy to read, and the stories themselves are very sexy – they’ll definitely get you hot under the collar. Art and Soul is a collection of two erotic short stories by Scarlett Knight. They’re centred around the theme of rekindled lust – and wow are they hot!

The first title, Art and Soul, is about a divorced woman, Gwen, who bumps into her old flame, Clark, in the supermarket. They’re both single and so they have dinner together. One thing leads to another, and soon they’re wondering how they ever lived their lives apart.

The second story, Saturday Surprise, is also about old flames. Blake and Jacob’s relationship ended badly, and it took Blake a long time to get over the hurt. So when Jacob turns up on her doorstep, she’s reluctant to let him in. However, she relents and soon discovers that despite the way things ended, Jacob wants to try again, and the passion behind their potential make-up could be explosive.

Scarlett Knight seriously packed a lot of punch into these two short stories. Her writing is incredibly sensual and emotional, and although the stories have a similar theme, they’re both very different. I found Knight’s writing style very engaging, and both tales had their own merits which I really enjoyed. There are feelings, plots and hot sex packed into a short word count, so if you’re looking for some quick reads which will still pluck at your heartstrings, you should check out this mini-anthology.
