Relating to Characters – Sexuality and Similarity by Kate Hill

When writing a book, I’ve found that I relate to some characters very well and others I can’t relate to at all. Some characters share parts of my personality, even though it’s not always a deliberate decision to give them those traits.

In Blow by Blow, two characters share my point of view regarding love, attraction and being true to yourself. With one, the choice to do this was deliberate. With the other, I wasn’t fully aware at first that I had done this.

Liz is the single, middle-aged owner of A Panoramic View, the club where one of the heroes works part time as a waiter. She’s been around long enough to know exactly who she is. She realizes that she doesn’t need anyone’s approval regarding her personal life. The only opinions that matter belong to the people who love and respect her. She has learned that you can’t please everyone and unfortunately some people judge others without really knowing them.

What erotic authors do you enjoy reading?

I’m a huge Stormy Glenn fan. I started reading Bellann Summer and Olivia Black recently, as well. All are very talented erotic romance authors. There are so many new authors I want to start reading soon too. I just need to find the time to get to their stories. 🙂

Ronan, What made you come to the village? Did you receive an a sign that told you something? If so what/how did you feel.

R: Revenge—pure and simple. My cousin was the Protector of this particular village before and when he was killed, I knew I had to step into his shoes. We weren’t particularly close, but he was family, you know, and besides the thing that killed him. She needed putting down. I was the Bear to do that, and once I’d met Tina, it became even more personal. I had to make sure the village she called home was safe.

  • How did you start writing erotica?

Well, first of all, the Fueled By Lust book series isn’t strictly erotica, it’s erotic romance. I have an equal balance of romance to the sex. There are meaningful relationships building throughout each book. The stories aren’t about someone’s journey as discovered through their sexual encounters, but the personal journey to finding life partners. Through that excursion, some of their expressions of love are in the form of very erotic sexual encounters. No worries! I’ve included enough scenes that will definitely wake up your girly parts and send you over the cliff. Whew! Hope I cleared that up. I started writing erotic romance since I’d read quite a few myself and thought that I could provide something I’d never seen before regarding plot line. I read over 600 different novels/novellas within a 2-year period before I ever put finger to keyboard.
