Hi! I’m so excited to be celebrating the release of SQUARED AWAY, which is book 5 in my Out of Uniform series. Today I’m sharing an excerpt that is VERY NSFW and one of my favorite moments of the book!

“Fuck. Yes.” Isaiah stretched, giving Mark access. And oh, this was fun, licking and sucking, finding which spots made Isaiah groan and gasp, testing whether teeth were okay, discovering Isaiah’s taste and smell in new ways.
“Yeah. Like that.” Isaiah was rocking against Mark, subtle motions that made their groins connect. And that felt right too, pressing their erections together, moving with him.
“I want to make you come,” he whispered, right next to Isaiah’s ear. “Is this how?”
“Kiss me some more.” Isaiah moved so his legs fell open more, letting him wrap one around Mark. It was a whole new level of close, mouth to mouth, chest to chest, Isaiah’s cock pushing insistently at Mark’s stomach.
Eager to get more of those happy noises from Isaiah, Mark renewed the kiss, going for all the things he knew Isaiah liked—the lip sucking and little bites and deep strokes. Isaiah didn’t disappoint, groaning and panting. Their bodies moved together, him following Isaiah’s lead, finding a rhythm that matched the kiss. It felt so good to thrust against him. Pressure gathered at the base of his spine, his own breath quickening.
“You’re going to get me off. God, it’s so good.” Isaiah groaned as Mark went back to that spot under his ear.
“Yes.” Triumph surged through Mark, powerful adrenaline he usually associated with being out in the field.
“You want that? Me to come?” Isaiah’s head was thrown back, eyes squished shut, kiss-swollen lips parted. Mark had never seen a more beautiful sight in his life.
“Yes.” Some new instinct was driving Mark’s body, thrusts speeding up. His cock throbbed like when he jerked off, but better. The closeness he felt with Isaiah made the sensations magnified, made him feel warmer. Safer. Like this was all good and right and exactly where he was supposed to be right then. “I think…” His voice broke.
“Yeah? You too?” Isaiah reclaimed his mouth before Mark could answer, freeing him to lose himself in the kiss. His hands were warm and urgent on Mark’s back, pulling him closer. His cock was riding the crease of Isaiah’s thigh, fabric dragging. Skin. He wanted skin.
“Want to feel you.” He shoved at Isaiah’s pajama bottoms.
“Me too.” Isaiah took over, scooting out of his pants while Mark did the same. And then they were back kissing, bare skin warm and welcoming and a thousand times better than the flannel.
“Do whatever you need,” Isaiah whispered against his mouth. “I want you to get there too. Go hard or slow, whatever feels good.”
“This. This feels good.” Mark kissed him again. And it did, moving together, kissing like the world might end and they needed to squeeze in as many kisses as possible, hungry and desperate. Isaiah was groaning in that way that drove Mark nuts. His sounds were every bit as good as the kiss.

Synopsis:
In the wake of tragedy, SEAL Mark Whitley rushed stateside to act as guardian to his sister’s three young children. But a conflicting will could give custody to someone else—someone Mark remembers as a too young, too hot, wild party boy. Even after six years, Mark can’t shake the memory of his close encounter with Isaiah James, or face up to what it says about his own sexuality.
Isaiah’s totally over the crush that made him proposition Mark all those years ago. In fact, he’s done with crushing on the wrong men altogether. For now, he’s throwing himself into proving he’s the best person to care for his cousin’s kids. But there’s no denying there’s something sexy about a big, tough military man with a baby in his arms.
As the legal details get sorted out, their long-buried attraction resurfaces, leading to intimate evenings after the kids are tucked in. A forever future is within reach for all of them, if only Mark can find the courage he needs to trust Isaiah with his secrets—and his heart.

What Annabeth Albert has to say about this book in her Out of Uniform series:
“I wanted to write a book about the nature of family and how loss and tragedy can shape family, mold it into something stronger, force growth and change. I’m enormously proud of SQUARED AWAY as a result because how I fell in love with this little family.”
“When Wizard first appeared in ON POINT as a secondary character, I was intrigued by him, but it wasn’t until I let myself get into his head that I really saw how complicated he was. I feel honored and privileged to have been able to tell his story.”
“No book gets written in a vacuum and this one is no different. I owe a huge debt on this book to my sensitivity readers who really encouraged me to dig deep.”
