Eighty Days White is another companion novel to the original titles. It deals with another character we’ve briefly met – Lily, the girl with the teardrop tattoo. We follow her on her journey from her days as a student in Brighton to London and a life of sexual discovery.
There are kinks abound in this book – voyeurism, exhibitionism, female domination, male domination, submission, spanking and much, much more. You learn more about Lily with each new chapter, and actually feel sorry for her at the points where things aren’t going her way. However, her sexual and sensual escapades more than counteract this and it’s fascinating to watch how Lily eventually comes to realise who she is, what she likes, and how she embraces it. There are many false starts and lots of world travel involved, but it all comes together in a very satisfying ending.
Eighty Days White was another interesting addition to the series. It wasn’t my favourite, I must admit, but I suspect this is because I didn’t like the characters as much as I did in some of the previous books. It’s still a great, well-written novel and is worth a read, particularly if you enjoyed the others in the collection.
