Rescuing Markas is book one in the Sanctuary series by Megan Slayer. It tells the story of John Dallas, a man with money, but no real passion in life. He works at a local petting zoo where people can pay to pet lion cubs. John enjoys looking after the lions, but on seeing the intelligence in their eyes, often finds himself wondering if shifters are real, and whether his lions could be shifters.
When he finds out something shocking about the zoo, he figures he has only one option – he has to save the lions. But the act of heroism raises a whole bunch of other questions and issues. Can John overcome them in order to find the man of his dreams?
This is a great start to a series – I’ve added all the others to my to be read list. I very much enjoy Megan’s writing, and this book is no exception. It’s engaging, sexy and romantic, and I look forward to finding out what she has in store for the characters next. Definitely recommended to paranormal romance fans.
It’s time for another summer of sun, sand, suntan lotion, sandals, and Speedos on Cozzi Cove at the New Jersey Shore. Cal Cozzi’s seven bungalows are once again open for love.
This summer, sexy Cal welcomes back his brother and sister, who are confronted with people from their pasts. Connor, the maid packed with muscle and mayhem, becomes the subject of a handsome young psychologist’s study on human sexuality. Tommy, the strapping, bald and tattooed local bartender, is captivated with guest Cory Magnum, a police officer with a secret. Another guest, Bill, a disbelieving pastor, is inspired by a vision of two sexy male angels on the cove. And Cal and Michael reach a plateau in their relationship.
What secrets, humor, tragedies, mysteries, and passions lie waiting to unfold in this magical place called Cozzi Cove?
After trading the barracks for a fixer-upper rental, navy SEAL Zack Nelson wants peace, not a roommate—especially not Pike, who sees things about Zack he most wants to hide. Pike’s flirting puts virgin Zack on edge. And the questions Pike’s arrival would spark from Zack’s teammates about his own sexuality? Nope. Not going there. But Zack can’t refuse.
Regular readers of my reviews will know that I’m a big fan of Keira Andrews’ Amish books, so I was very happy to check out this short story featuring the two main characters from the series, David and Isaac. It won’t make an awful lot of sense unless you’ve read the other books, to be honest, so if you’re looking for some gay romance (with hot sex scenes) that’s very different, then you should definitely check them out.
A Very English Christmas is set after the third book in the series, and is a quick, sweet and sexy tale about the boys’ first Christmas together as a couple in the “English” world, as they call it. They’re still learning about the things that they’ve had no experience of in their Amish lives, still trying to build a life together. It was really great to read a little bit more about the boys in this great short story, and I very much hope the rumours of another book in the series are true!
Overall, a must-buy for fans of the series. If you haven’t read the other books yet, though, I wouldn’t suggest starting here. Read them in order and all will become clear – they’re unique, incredibly well-written and engaging books.
