eBook Review: Bottoms Up by Kate Deveaux
Bottoms Up is an erotic romance novel with heavy emphasis on the erotic part. This tale by Kate Deveaux is about a woman called Lexi, who’s having a really bad time of it. Dealing with grief, she’s also lost her home and her job, and isn’t sure how things can get any worse. Wanting to drown her sorrows, she heads into nearby bar Bottoms Up for some liquid comfort. Things start to look up for her then, as sexy barman Justin has a special talent for picking just the right cocktail for people.
The two hit it off over some saucily-named cocktails, and soon Lexi finds herself unable to resist returning to the bar, where the sudden absence of a waitress leaves a job opening. Lexi’s financial and sex life both seem to be rapidly on the rise as, cocktail by cocktail, Justin mends her broken heart.
This is a very sexy read. Because of the way it’s been structured (I don’t want to say too much and give the game away), it lends itself to lots of very hot sex, without it feeling like it’s been shoehorned in. It’s all part of the story. That being said, there is still lots going on in this novel besides the sex, and the result is a very hot, very satisfying read, and one I’d recommend to erotic romance fans.
An Interview with Kate Deveaux (@KateDeveaux)
Thank you so much for having me as your guest today. I’m thrilled to pop by and chat about writing and my newest release Bottoms Up. And I love a Q&A!
How did you start writing erotica?
I started writing really racy stories in college. Short stories filled with scandalously graphic scenes that I found not only delighted me, but a few friends I had the nerve to share them with. At the time, erotica seemed kind of taboo, but I had always loved a sexy romance, and my interest was piqued in that genre for good. By the time I left college I knew anything I wrote would be classified as ‘erotica’ although now contemporary romance has much more graphic and erotic tones than it ever had before. And I’m glad for that!

An Interview with J.C. Long (@j_c_long_author)
How do you answer the question “Oh, you’re an author…what do you write?”
Stories with lots of sex and the occasional dead body.
What does your family think of your writing?
They think it’s great I’m doing what I always wanted to do, even if they don’t think that what I’m writing is useful/appropriate (inappropriate? Me? Noooo).

Darkness by Kate Sherwood (@kate_sherwood)
About Darkness, part 3 in the Common Law series
A murdered prostitute. An obvious suspect. Clear evidence. For once, Jericho Crewe has a straightforward crime to investigate, and Wade Granger isn’t involved.
It all seems so simple, but Jericho’s instincts won’t let him rest. As he investigates, he finds troubling suggestions that the murder is a part of something larger and more sinister. But working within the boundaries of the law may keep him from finding the truth. If Jericho doesn’t break the rules, an innocent man may rot in jail while a killer remains free to strike again.
